Chef in Los Angeles, California

I went to college on a tennis scholarship, after college I played professional paddle tennis for 15 years and was ranked #1 in the country for over 13 of those years. I still play both but my favorite sport now is golf. I played tournament golf for 10 years, and still play regularly. As an athlete you’re always trying to improve, to get better, to be the best. I think that has carried over into the kitchen. I'm always challenging myself. I’m a constant learner and always striving to improve. I would consider myself someone who cooks from the heart. I absolutely love what I do and that translates into my food. I come from a long line of incredible southern women who knew their way around a kitchen.I’m neat and organized which I feel is a necessity in the kitchen. I’m always experimenting and figuring new ways to prepare things and creating new dishes. I’m a certified health coach, so I enjoy taking certain classic dishes and putting a healthier twist on them. In addition to being a chef, I have owned a business in the corporate sector for over 30 years. As a single mother raising 2 children, it afforded me the flexibility that I needed to be very present while they were growing up. I was able to make meetings, games , practices etc. I was able to put them through private school and college. However cooking has always been my passion. I have been able to do it part time for some years, but now I am an empty nester and all I want to do is cook. I love to travel and the outdoors. I enjoy trying new things. I love all sports and when I’m not cooking you can find me sitting on the couch watching a game and screaming at the TV.😊 I'm ultimately looking for something long term but will do short term assignment work as well.
