Chef Job in Delta, British Columbia

Cook, Available Immediately Applewood, a Tearoom and Bakery in Delta, is seeking a permanent, part time Cook to join our team. We are a long established, successful business with an established brand and clientele. We are looking for someone with a culinary background, the ability to execute our current menu and a positive attitude and passion for cooking. Must be available for weekends. Food Safe certificate required. Responsibilities • Ensure constant inventory of prepared food items • Maintain a tight schedule for the daily set up and preparation of the kitchen station • Prepare large batch quantities of soups, sauces, jams and casseroles • Follow standardized recipes for accurate food preparation, season food by recipe and taste • Roll, cut and shape dough to form pie/quiche crusts, focaccias, salmon puffs and related products • Prepare orders accurately, timely, well presented and at the appropriate temperature • Provide superior customer service by responding to short notice incoming requests • Maintain a clean and sanitized work area and equipment to ensure safety and best performance (pots, pans, stoves, ovens, blenders) throughout the day • Wash and sanitize dishes in an organized and timely fashion • Meet or exceed standards for the overall cleanliness of the kitchen including floors • Provide grocery order list in a timely fashion as needed • Exercise overall good cooking knowledge Requirements • 3 years experience • Possession of Food Safe certificate • Sound knowledge and strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards • A passion for food, service and commitment to quality • Able to perform repetitive physically challenging tasks and lift up to 40 lbs. • Be able to work primarily independently and as part of a close knit team Send your application to: [email protected] Please submit a résumé and a simple, bulleted list cover letter, clearly indicating how you meet these requirements.
