I provide holistic, customized culinary and wellness services in the Washington, D.C. area and beyond. Services include: - Preparing daily meals, ranging from casual meals to formal occasions with focus on healthful, market-driven cuisine to support wellness and lifestyle goals. - Designing, executing and storing multi-day offerings per strict dietary guidelines and food sensitivities, with emphasis on presentation and aesthetics. - Organizing, coordinating and catering meals for private dinners, special events, and corporate gatherings, ranging from five – 25 guests. - Maintaining the quantity and quality of household food and supplies. - Accompanying clients to secondary and summer residences.. My journey as a chef began several years ago, when I was diagnosed with a chronic illness. Like many people, I've long had a complex relationship with food. But now, I was forced to look at food differently: not as calories or fat content, but as nourishment. And so, I started examining what I put in my body. And I started cooking – a lot. At the onset of treatment, my diet was limited, as I could tolerate very few foods without discomfort. Despite this, I was empowered by taking charge of my health and well-being. Gradually, my condition improved and my palette expanded. I discovered a love for wholesome, seasonal ingredients – prepared well, and raised with care. Once my own health was restored, I wanted to share my new passion for food while helping others achieve optimal health. In April of 2013, I enrolled in the Natural Gourmet Institute’s culinary program. I loved every second of it and I miss it daily. Now, I am fortunate enough to work as a private chef and nurture people with my cooking. My days are spent dashing from one kitchen to the next, with frequent stops at the farmers market and grocery store. Sometimes my bags break and I constantly make a mess – but it’s pretty darn fun. od. I live in Silver Spring with my delightful mutt, Ella. She happily gobbles up everything I cook for her.
