We are a husband and wife team and partners in purposeful work. Sternberg translates to 'star of the mountain' and Montaño means 'from the mountains'. Life partners on a quest to live a life of intention by teaching and learning about the care of the earth & food sovereignty. Our training as farm-to-table chefs and organic farmers, along with our love for the health of food and the earth, coalesced to become Star Mountain Kitchen. As lifelong students of natural farming and wild food foraging, and we love to share fresh vibrant flavors in our cooking. Our work on organic farms throughout the West and Central America, with a focus on bio-intensive, regenerative methods, has allowed us to develop our garden-to-table food preparation and preservation skills. Mother Nature is ultimately the best teacher and master gardener and we love to explore feral and wild foods for health and inspiration. Our passion is to source the highest quality ingredients from local farmers and ranchers in order to support a sustainable community and family-owned business. We honor these ingredients by mindfully preparing elegant and health-forward meals. Many of our clients appreciate our expertise in specialty diets that foster well-being.
