About Chef Caterina: Chef Caterina is from Riccione, a resort in one of the most popular regions in Italy for food and tourism. She spent her summers at the family’s restaurant and hotel, fully immersed in the hospitality business and received her diploma in Professional Tourism Services in Rimini, Italy and Public Professional Institute Services in Riccione, Italy. Caterina’s passion is to discover ways to creatively express herself through cooking, watching food take shape and bring pleasure to family and friends. To her, every day Italian home cooking is the best--simple and tasty; with a good glass of red or white wine, it always brings joy and cheerfulness to the table. I am a girl from Riccione, born and raised in the Piadina’s land: Romagna region. I have always been very fond of travelling and cooking so I graduated at the Technical Institute for Tourism Marco Polo in Rimini in 2007. In 2009 I wanted my big dream to come true: leaving to Australia. There I had the opportunity to work as a family cook at my Australian host family for 6 months. I started to develop strong organizational skills, planning menus and watching out of the food expenses. I cooked simple courses based on regionally Italian gastronomy, sometimes combining also some oriental flavors. Since the strong passion that I always have cultivated towards gastronomy, in 2013 I went ahead on a training course, attending the "second level Operator of cuisine” course at the Professional Hotel Institute Severo Savioli Riccione. Going on travelling, in the summer 2014, I moved to Los Angeles for a few months where I could lead my own Cooking Class, teaching the traditional Italian cuisine to American clients. This unique experience, taught me so many organizational skills and relationship competences, underlining the importance, peculiarities and authenticity of the Italian cuisine versus the global market. Going on with my studies, in 2014, I attended the cooking class of " First Level Cooking", at the Cook Academy Institute of Rimini, learning some new cooking techniques that have marked my path.
