Born in New York city with the last name Turini, I am well versed in European cuisine with a specialty in Italian. When I was 8 years old, my mother hurt her back and in one week I learned what Lemon Pledge, Electrolux, Tide and boiled hot dogs meant. The second dinner I made was prosciutto omelets. After college and a brief stint on Wall Street, I decided to go to culinary school. In 1996, I moved to the west coast, working in Los Angeles, Palm Springs and Catalina Island. An offshore fisherman and diver, I learned about numerous ways to prepare local fare from the ocean. Now, it is an extreme passion.
