Chef in Oak Park, Illinois

I graduated from Shorter University in Georgia with a bachelors degree in Business and four years of collegiate baseball under my belt. From there, I was offered a supervisor job at Adler Weiner Research in Los Angeles, California. After working as a supervisor for 1 1/2 years, and personal training on the side, I decided it was time for a change from the office life. I immediately began applying to restaurants for jobs. After a few weeks, Blaqhaus in North Hollywood offered me a job as a dishwasher and I took it. Within 2 weeks, I was moved onto the line and cooking on all the busiest days. After 8 months on the line, I made the decision to move back to Chicago to continue pursuing my quest for both cooking and fitness. I spent another 3-4 months at Maya Del Sol where I learned a lot about Spanish Cuisine, but did not feel that it was the right atmosphere for me to grow. My search continued, and that is when I then landed a job at Girl & the Goat, which is where I currently work as a grill cook and wood fired oven cook. Along with this job, I still work part time as an independent personal trainer and love the concept and idea of a future job that allows my fitness background and food background to mesh and come together as one. I am always looking to gain knowledge and become better at what I do, so I am looking for the best opportunity possible to do just that.
