Meleco 172 E 106th St. New York, NY 10029 | ... | [email protected] | Instagram January 15, 2018 To Whom It May Concern: With a Bachelors degree in marketing (Bentley University, 2003) along with 7 years experience in marketing and public relations, three of which were spent abroad working for a large hotel chain in Mexico (Palace Co.), the decision to change careers and attend the French Culinary Institute (class of 2011) was a huge transition for me at the age of 30. With that said, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made, for it fostered my talent and love for cooking. Upon graduation I was hired as the sous chef on a boat (Mariner III) docked here in Manhattan for the summer season. I cooked for private parties, wedding receptions, cooperate events etc… while on the boat which chartered events all over New England, I cooked for groups up to 120 guests. It was an amazing experience, as well as one that opened up doors in the culinary industry for me. After the Mariner III returned back to Palm Beach, FL, I began working with a few different catering companies primarily prepping, and cooking for large events such as weddings and cooperate gatherings. Maintaining close relationships with those companies to this day, I began to branch off into restaurants, including Bar Boulud, Moscow 57, as well as Executive Chef at Levont, a Middle Eastern restaurant in Carroll Gardens. I also began working as a private chef, which to this day is one of my favorite types of chef work! Over the past few years, I have gathered a handful of clients that I work with for their private events and dinners. After around a year spent at St. Anthony’s Convent in SOHO as a private chef, where I was responsible for the weekly shopping, pantry maintenance, and daily prep, cooking, dinner service and cleaning for 18-25 nuns, I have decided to go out on my own once again as a private chef.
