It's safe to say that after 20 years in the food and beverage industry in New York City, I know my way around it. I've cooked for anywhere from 2 to 800 people at a time, and know how to manage a commercial kitchen--from procurement to the end product. I've owned a restaurant and bar in the West Village, opened a food hall in Grand Central Station, and have operated new-Nordic bakeries in the city to boot. I'm looking for a part-time opportunity that allows me to work on my current endeavors in the food and beverage space. I specialize in cooking for private dinner parties, but am available to do meal planning as well. I'm currently working with a doctor to develop a book on readjusting your metabolism through your diet and lifestyle, which has given me great insight on weight loss and holistic health--and love the challenge of making healthy food delicious. I also love infusing my local South African heritage into the food I produce.
