Our church provides a weekly fellowship meal for the congregation as part of our mid-week ministries; we also provide meals for other occasional special church events. Our church has a full commercial kitchen and a serving "buffet" line. Our church is currently looking for 2 people: - The head chef will be responsible for all aspects of the weekly menu: planning, ordering, and preparing a buffet-style dinner every week for around 200-225 people (as well as occasional other events of varying group sizes). - The assistant will be responsible for helping the chef as needed... and will also help with serving from the buffet line. (Note: We use volunteers to help with additional serving & cleaning.) Both of the above would be paid, contract (1099) positions. Although initially, we would probably contract for 2-3 meals on a trial basis to make sure it is a good fit for all, our goal is that the arrangement would be long-term and mutually beneficial. Depending on the experience and level of service, the pay range is between $20 to $40 per hour. The head chef would make on the upper end of that, and the assistant would be on the lower end. This would typically require an 8-hour day, 1 day per week. The head chef would probably do an additional 4 hours per week on menu planning.
