We are looking to build a creative arrangement with someone who might want to live in mid-town (with us) without the associated and significant housing costs. For the past 3 years we have enjoyed having a family cook (who didn't live with us) and a live-in nanny to support our family but our needs have recently changed. We have also moved houses and have ample space to continue a live-in arrangement with the right person. In exchange for housing we are hoping to find someone who can help prepare some meals in creative ways e.g. cooking in the morning and/or for a couple of days in advance. Please note that this is not a traditional fee-for-service payment arrangement, and the hours of work you provide will reduce or more likely eliminate the need for any rent payments. We are very open to creative negotiation of this idea. This arrangement may be ideal for someone who is already working downtown and would like to focus on furthering their career while not worrying about rent costs each month. We are willing to work around complex schedules and get quite creative in how to receive meal-prep help in your other employed off hours (if you are otherwise employed, and/or which can support you in continuing to build your catering/family chef business). It is very important to us that the arrangement feels equitable and comfortable for both parties, and we now have a lot of experience in crafting such an arrangement such that good boundaries and clear expectations are maintained. We are adventurous and healthy in our approach to food with virtually no restrictions and/or limitations (which I'm told is an asset for a creative chef).
