Business Address: 10 Paisley St. Unit 3, Guelph, ON, N1H 2N6 Work location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full Time / Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods • Plan menus • Determine size of food portions • Inspect kitchens and food service areas • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment • Clean kitchen and work areas • Use all equipment in the kitchen (ovens, stove, mixers, steamer, combi, deep fryers). • Ensure preparations are properly dated and rotated within the fridges (First In, First Out). • Ensure effective waste control through use of daily waste control sheets and proper rotation of products. • Follow recipes; encourage recipe input to change with the trends. • Organization and cleanliness of department, including all coolers, fridges, production areas, equipment and storage areas. • Ensure that proper food handling techniques are being used at all times. • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances. Requirements: -Education: Completion of high school is required -Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience. If candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience a post-secondary certificate is required. -Knowledge of cooking temperatures, and experience with knives and food handling are assets -Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Able to multitask, Team Player & Problem Solver. Other information: -The workers will work a flexible work schedule. It includes weekends and nights. The employee is required to work in different 8-hour shifts between 5:00 AM and 10:00 PM or 10:30 PM. They will have two days off per week on a rotational basis.
