We have hunting locations in four of Newfoundland's most densely populated moose areas. We have thirteen hunting lodges situated in the most pristine Newfoundland Wilderness. All of our hunting lodges are located at lakeside, in the midst of the beautiful long range mountains, to allow easy access by our float plane or helicopter. Business address: 40 Main Street, River of Ponds, NL, A0K 4M0 (Main lodge) Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: *We are looking for a cook to work in our main lodge • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods • Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies • Inspect kitchen and foods service areas • Occasionally train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food • Order supplies and equipment • Supervise a kitchen helper • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment • Clean kitchen and work area • Manage kitchen operations • Purchase required foods • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Requirements: - Education: Completion of high school is required - Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. If the candidate does not have 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required - College certificate in a Cooking program is a strong asset Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads Personal Suitability: Judgement, Flexibility, Team player, Organized, Initiative, Dependability, Reliability Salary: $13.50 to $15.50 hourly, 35-40 hours per week. Work schedule is 5 days per week including weekdays, weekends and holidays with multiple shifts between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Two days-off provided on a rotational basis.
