Chef Job in Los Angeles, California
Looking for a solid Sous Chef/CDC in a high end Latin restaurant. As second in command, this person will oversee multiple units within the restaurant, and alongside the Executive Chef direct all aspects of kitchen operations from creating dishes, cooking, production and quality control to sanitation. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Tasks and responsibilities are under direct supervision of the Executive Chef: With direction from the Executive Chef, supervise all back of house team members delegating tasks and work effectively. Anticipate restaurant needs regarding ordering, scheduling etc. Manage back of house employee schedules, training and development. Maintaining an open door policy for employees and shared responsibility for their growth. Must be a team player and happy to assist wherever needed, must be able to work any station on the line when needed. Must be able to assess and solve employee and / or departmental situations. Must have the ability to prioritize and organize effectively in high stress situations while maintaining a calm and approachable demeanor. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
