O/A Best Western Plus Mirage Hotel & Resort Business Information: The newest and most modern full-service Hotel in Northern Alberta Business Location: 9616 Highway 58, High Level, AB T0H 1Z0 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Duties: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies Inspect kitchens and food service areas Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food Order supplies and equipment Supervise kitchen staff and helpers Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment Clean kitchen and work areas Organize and manage buffets and banquets Manage kitchen operations Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Requirements - Education: Completion of high school is required - Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. If the candidate does not have 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required - Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads - Personal Suitability: Judgement, Organized, Initiative, Dependability, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player -Language: English is required Salary: $17.00 Hourly, 30 to 40 hours per week Benefits: Accommodation provided at a discounted rate Important Information: Must have flexible availability – morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
