We started in 2011 with the family business ¨Made In Mexico¨ in Newmarket but after falling in love with the town of Midland we decided this was the perfect place to start our new project. We chose the name of Zanca because it is a word that is only used in the Guerrero region where we come from and it is a colloquial way of saying "my friend". We want to share our love for our culture with everyone and make you part of our family. Business Address: 290 King Street suite 1 Midland, ON, L4R 3M6 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables. Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs. Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware. Place dishes in storage area. Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas. Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand. Scour pots and pans. Keep records of the quantities of food used. Package take-out food. Portion and wrap foods. Prepare, heat and finish simple food items. Stock refrigerators and salad bars. Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs. Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment. Handle and store cleaning products. Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas. Remove kitchen garbage and trash. Sharpen kitchen knives. Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors. Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit. Help prepare and cook meals or individual dishes and foods. Maintain food standards of the restaurant. Requirements: Education: Some secondary school is required Experience: Experience is an asset. On the job training will be provided. Knowledge of Mexican cuisine is an asset. Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads (Up to 23 kg - 50 lbs), Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure,Attention to detail Personal Suitability: Client focus, Reliability, Team player, Ability to multitask, Initiative, Positive attitude Language: Basic English is required. Ability to communicate in Spanish is an asset. Salary: $16.55 hourly, 44 hours per week Benefits: Gratuities, Uniform and meals are provided by the employer, free parking available, learning/training paid by employer, team building opportunities, transportation cost covered if worker needs to relocate. Accommodation available at no cost. Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. We are open Tuesday to Sunday. Two shifts available: Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm AND Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 7pm. Hours may vary based on the business needs.
