We’re a startup which after 1.5 years of operating two food trucks is opening its first location and looking for a perp chef to lead the kitchen operation. A Prep Chef owns the entire end-to-end process of prepping high quality food for our the restaurant, catering and two food trucks. This role reports to the store manager and the master chef and also assumes in a near future a wide range of additional responsibilities including people management. Job Responsibilities include: - Follow the recipes accurately and maintain food preparation processes such as cooking, seasoning, and grilling meat and chicken; - Chop herbs; dicing, cutting, and slicing vegetables; - Complete hot and cold food preparation assignment accurately, neatly, and in a timely fashion; - Prepare food throughout the day as needed, anticipating and reacting to customer volume; - Maintain appropriate portion control and consistently monitoring food levels on the line; - Maintain proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards while preparing and cooking food; - Fill end-of-shift inventory reports for ingredients, raw products and prepped food; Requirements: - ability to commit for 30-50 hours weekly; - culinary/kitchen experience; - ability to work under pressure; - ability to lead and coach a team; - ServSafe certificate; - expected working time: 6am-2pm (may vary); At Bandora we take pride in every detail of our made-from-scratch menu.
