Chef Job in Newport, Rhode Island

The Spouting Rock Beach Association (better known as Bailey's Beach) is looking for a few seasonal (May-Oct) Sous Chefs and/or Creative Cooks who are enthusiastic and motivated with the ability to manage a large, inexperienced staff in a very fast-paced, Country Club environment. Quality of food and service is the highest priority! The Club has many foodservice areas and the menu changes daily with great opportunities to be creative. Duties include: ~Close supervision of staff in all aspects of food preparation. ~Assist in creation and planning of menus, daily specials, soups, salads, entrees and desserts. Creativity and experimentation is encouraged! ~Plan and assist in prep assignments for upcoming catering and Club events. ~Assist and supervise off-site events. ~Oversee all aspects of the kitchen environment with an emphasis on safe and sanitary practices. ~Interact with the Club's membership regarding many aspects of food and/or services.
