It’s a Bao Time is a quick-serve restaurant, although it is “quick-serve”, time is taken in each dish. We offer a cross-cultural culinary fusion concept; serving predominantly Vietnamese submarine sandwiches (banh-mi), Taiwanese buns/hamburgers (bao) and Mexican Tacos. Summary With the assistance of the sous chefs, you will run the entire back of house operation on a day-to-day basis including but not limited to adding innovation to the menu, recruiting, training and scheduling staff, helping to implement efficient policies and procedures while making sure that all food & safety requirements are being followed. As the Head Chef of the restaurant some of your key duties and responsibilities would include: - Menu innovation, planning & development - Ensuring that the dishes served meet restaurants expectation - Managing and ordering stocks of food and other back of the house supplies - Controlling labor & food cost / meeting set budgets - Ensuring health & safety procedures are properly followed - Keeping accurate records in regards to food, health & safety and staff - Weekly staff scheduling - Recruiting, managing and developing staff Experience and Skillset Required: - Someone who is motivated, passionate, creative, a leader and a mentor - Extremely well organized and have time management and planning skills - Reliable and able to produce consistent output - Written & oral English skills - Good computer (e-mail, POS systems, spreadsheets) understanding and math knowledge (labor, food cost management, budgeting) - 2-5 years’ experience in the kitchen combined Beneficial attributes - Knowledge and experience with quick-serve/ Asian/fusion cuisine. - Corporate restaurant/hotel background - Operating a restaurant - Supplier/recruiter contacts - Culinary degree
