The Carlton Plaza of San Jose is seeking a Cook to continue our Company’s standard for an elegant dining experience. If you have the skills to assist us in this mission we are looking for an experienced person, but we will consider training a person with potential who wants to develop new skills. This person will assist in the preparation of meals including soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption. Key to success in the position will be a commitment to meet our goal of assuring that we provide the highest degree of service to our residents. It’s a fast-paced environment but it’s also a very nice place to work. What do we want? Well, most importantly we want someone who can cook. We will need someone who has or is able to learn: . A basic knowledge of food preparation, service standards and resident relations and etiquette. . How to calculate units of weight and measure, both liquid and dry, as required by recipes. . How to use common sense and carry out instructions furnished by written, oral or diagram guidelines. . The ability to communicate effectively in English with team members. Bi-lingual ability is a plus.. . Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
