COMPANY DETAILS: Upbeet Foods is a Toronto, plant based(vegetarian) meal delivery service start up, that will launch in September of 2016. The recipes for Upbeet are shared between generations of family and come from a love of plant-based food, reflecting the owner’s passion for healthy living as well as their experiences with different cultures. The result is nutritious, delicious and flavorful food that any food‑lover would enjoy! We're looking for a line cook to join our team and help us to grow while ensuring high standards of meal quality. This role requires you to be organized and creative, with excellent communication, and an ability to work well under a time sensitive, high pressure environment. POSITION DETAILS: The specific set of tasks include: - Work alongside the team on the kitchen days (2 days a week for launch) to prep and produce the meals - Be available during night shift (post 9pm, up until 5am) - Ensure on-time production and consistent products - Provide suggestions to help us improve our operations We are looking for a person with: - Preferably with prior experience in banquet or other high-volume production - Culinary background and education, prior experience with a variety of cuisines - 2-4 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen or catering environment - A valid Food Handler's Certificate - Being vegetarian, or understanding vegetarian cooking is an asset but not a requirement - Smiling, positive, hard working, and food loving junior chefs encouraged to apply!
