The role of Chef / Household Coordinator is to develop, procure and prepare dynamic, delicious and nutritious meals for an internationally renowned Artist’s studio and home, to migrate food and containers from both locations, and to oversee the household staff, such as the housekeeper, regular maintenance contractors, and liaise with various vendors. The role is to establish and maintain clean, organized and above all nurturing spaces that center around food. There should be a strong emphasis on farm to table, organic and ethically sourced food, as well as reduced waste and consciousness toward the environment. Food and supply budgets should be outlined by the Chef / Household Coordinator for approval and adjusted as necessary. There should be a seamlessness brought to the household and studio in terms of what is prepared at the studio and what is brought back to the household each day. The role is also to provide ongoing oversight of housekeeping, to point out and encourage systems of organization, and to liaise with all necessary persons for the regular maintenance of the household. PERSONAL CHEF DUTIES In the Studio Prepare delicious, diverse, nutritious and mainly vegetarian/vegan lunches for a range of 15-20 people Monday - Friday at the artist’s studio. (Including an animal protein beyond eggs once a week) Coordinate with the office staff about how many people will be at lunch each day Package and transport extra food to and from the studio to household each day Occasionally source vegan/gluten free bakery items for staff birthdays Shop for and provide all necessary ingredients for meals, including going to farmers markets Maintain kitchen, consistently stock with necessary supplies Keep the kitchen environment clean and well organized Home Coordinate all food for household, including children Transport containers back to the studio Support with Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve dinner, and occasional dinner party Shop for and provide all necessary ingredients for meals, including going to farmers markets Maintain kitchen, consistently stock with necessary supplies Keep the kitchen environment clean and well organized HOUSEHOLD COORDINATION DUTIES Oversight of housekeeping (scheduling additional support if needed) Direct housekeeper to maintain organizational systems Order necessary cleaning supplies Proactively prompt the housekeeper for additional methods of organization when the need arises, supporting current systems supplies Coordinating with maintenance contractors, etc, any issue arising with the maintenance of the household. This position is full time. Salary commensurate with experience.
