Chef Job in Waco, Texas

We are looking for a knowledgeable, creative, and passionate Head Chef to help start Revival Eastside Eatery in May/June 2019. The Head Chef will oversee the back-of-house by managing the daily operations of the kitchen and overseeing the kitchen staff. Example job duties for the Head Chef include the following: •Plan menus and create recipes, making adjustments as needed, based on the availability of ingredients and cost •Inspect raw and cooked food items to guarantee that the highest quality products are prepared and served to customers •Manage relationships and resolve issues with vendors and distributors •Work with the owner to set food costs, labor costs, and budget •Enforce that all kitchen staff adhere to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen •Direct kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion •Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure that all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively •Assign/delegate tasks to kitchen staff in the preparation and presentation of food •Collaborate with the owner to schedule staff and align kitchen operations with the overarching goals of the establishment •Clean and maintain kitchen equipment; as necessary, schedule repairs and additional maintenance
