Fresh, local ingredients and consistency in preparation, flavor and presentation led to our Hana location being Hana's most popular and highest rated (Yelp, TripAdvisor) restaurant. Our new location in Kihei will feature the same menu from the recently closed Hana location, plus a lot more. Position Overview We are currently looking for a full time Sous Chef to open the new Kihei location with us in January, 2016. The Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in the BOH operations of the restaurant. Being a smaller restaurant, the Sous Chef will work closely with all employees, FOH and BOH. Responsibilities will range from over-seeing BOH staff to working the prep and service lines. Primary Responsibilities - Maintain and run the service line and prep kitchen. - Assist with BOH staff management. - Train staff on kitchen practices including proper food safety, rotation, storage, quality and portion control.. - Help keep inventory and place food orders. Candidate Qualifications - At least three years of kitchen experience in a similar role. - Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. - Minimum of two professional references. - Preference will be given to applicants who are bi-lingual Thai / English. - Preference will be given to chefs with Thai Food experience. Salary and Benefits Salary is based on experience and qualification. Short-term housing is available in Kihei for applicants moving to the island.
