Chef Job in Elk Mountain, Wyoming

The Head Chef and Kitchen Manager will be in charge of creating safe, delicious, high quality food in the hotel kitchen. Working with the hotel team, the Head Chef will construct menus and then control and direct the preparation of the culinary creations. Specific Duties -Assist hotel management to create and plan menus and events, prioritizing quality. -Prepare, season, and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs in the hotel restaurant for hotel and restaurant guests. -Maintain current food safety certification, and direct other kitchen staff in cooking and food safety. -Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food handling practices. -Ensure food is cooked, held, and cooled at the proper temperatures for the necessary time to comply with all local health authority standards. -Portion, arrange, and garnish food to serve to patrons. -Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils. -Manage inventory in safe and cost-effective manner. Education and/or Experience Preferred -Degree in Culinary Arts (preferred) -Culinary experience; several years preferred. -Extensive food knowledge and creativity. Wine knowledge a plus. -Knowledge of purchasing, ordering, costing and inventory procedures. -Food safety certification
