CookUnity offers a lot of networking to the chefs involved, nearly all of our chefs today work with other chefs that they met at CookUnity, either if it’s for one event or for dinners, or for bigger events. It’s a really good way of knowing a lot of people in the industry in NYC, meeting amazing chefs and making friends. We are always interested in chefs who are health conscious without that meaning strictly “healthy or diet”. We have plenty of chefs who cook in a very healthy manner, others a little less but everyone at CookUnity should be conscious of basic honest practices like oils, amount of salt, sugar, etc. We are also interested in all types of cuisine, we love them all and NYC loves them all too! How does it work? Chefs come to our kitchen and they do a trial of two dishes, so that we can see them work a little and check out their dishes and how they cook, they meet one of the co-founders, our team and many chefs that same day. After that, we contact them and usually we make some adjustments to the dishes as we deliver everything cold. The idea is that the chefs have a platform that almost solve everything logitically for them to sell their amazing creations and dishes. We usually pay $2.5 and only for the meals that are actually sold and not produced. We have people doing 150 portions a day, sometimes 70 and sometimes even more. Even though, we have our own marketing and our customers, we expect our chefs to also promote CookUnity and send customers. Many of our chefs have customers to whom they cannot cook on a weekly basis because it’s too expensive for them, so they order through CookUnity that chef’s dishes. Also, as we grow there is more and more chefs that are a perfect fit because every person in the world have different tastes and dietary preferences. We want to make people eat healthier, we want to be part of the movement, but we need the best chefs for that, with the best training they can get.
