Chef Job in Bay Head, New Jersey

For the months of June, July & August, (possibly Sept & Oct) our family is looking for a private chef in Bay Head, NJ to do dinners and lunches from either Monday thru Sunday or Wednesday thru Sunday. Our style is relaxed and casual but your sauces and dressings have to be original ingredients, not canned or bottled. The clan can be as small as 4 and as large as 15. We would need you to cook and grocery shop for our family and visitors at our beach front home. We also have a full time housekeeper who can occasionally assist with setting up and/or clearing. You would have to be flexible and attentive to a constant change in the number of people coming to a meal, to different food likes and dislikes, and to any dietary restrictions or allergies - our family has few but I can’t vouch for guests! Candidates need to come with a great demeanor and an ability to whip up tasty substitutes if the need arises. Our household with its 3 dogs, 8 cats, and a fluctuating family list of visitors could be categorized as organized chaos – We’ll need you to go with the flow every time and performed magically. Divas need not apply. You’ll be in charge of menu planning, shopping, and executing a healthy and diverse meal program that doesn’t involve kale, brussel sprouts, cabbage, bottled salad dressing, or canned/prepackaged sauces. We hope candidates will have a depth and breadth of knowledge in cooking to enable them to create plated recipes in an intimate setting and also handle larger gatherings with family style servings that are both delicious to eat and enticing in presentation. If a member of the family wants to lead in the cooking of a meal, we’d ask that you assist in the ordering of ingredients and prep. When we head back to California for the winter, we want to miss your presence in the kitchen and your yummy dishes on the table. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
