After working in restaurants for over 15 years and cooking professionally for nearly seven years Chef Christina Sachs created The WholeHearted Chef in 2013. The vision was to create business that both represent her love for food and commitment for social and environmental impact. The WholeHearted Chef invites it's clients to celebrate and support the local and seasonal abundance of food in the Bay Area, to eat delicious and nutritious food made with love and integrity, and to connect with each other (friends, family, community). Chef’s Bio: For Chef Christina Sachs, owner and operator of The WholeHearted Chef, good food has always been at the center of her life. Growing up in a Macrobiotic* and environmentally conscious family she recognized early that food, health, well being, and the health of the planet were all intimately connected. After finishing her degree at The University of California Santa Cruz she moved to the Bay Area where she took a job with Café Gratitude. There she learned much about the preparation and practice of raw, vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar free cuisine and had the pleasure of training with Tiziana Alipo Tamborra, co-author of Sweet Gratitude. Later, she was invited to join a new team at Apple’s Centeral campus in Cupertino, co-creating a vegan/vegetarian food and juice program that enjoyed much success. More recently, she has worked with Bar Agricole, deepening her knowledge and appreciation of local seasonal ingredients and the joy in letting each ingredient shine, The Hattery cooking for their community as they build products and technologies that will make a positive impact on the world, The Zen Hospice Project cooking and re-creating the paradigm around death and dying, as well Chef Stephanie: Catering for Food Lovers and Hugh Groman Catering. Chef Christina Sachs loves partnering with local farms, business and chefs to create beautiful, delicious and nutritious food that brings family, friends and communities together in a warm and joyful space. *A macrobiotic diet (or macrobiotics), is a dietary regimen which involves eating grains as a staple food, supplemented with other foods such as local vegetables, and avoiding the use of highly processed or refined foods and most animal products. Services The WholeHearted Chef can provide a variety of crafted services for any occasion and will work to bring your vision into focus, creating a warm and memorable experience for you and your guests. We are happy to work with you to accommodate special dietary needs. The WholeHearted Chef is commited to using local, fresh, seasonal and organic whole foods and meats. We thank you for choosing to honor your body and the planet. Event Catering: WholeHearted Chef can provide snacks, appetizers, entrees, dessert, sweet confections that are plated and ready to serve upon delivery OR we can plate, host and serve any of the above as well as full meals on site. In House Chef: Enjoy any meal cooked and served to you and your guests in the comfort and warmth of your own home. Select one of the prefixed meals or let Chef Christina Sachs write a menu that creates a unique dinning experience tailored to you. Specialty Baking: From cookies and pastries to pies and cakes for any occasion let the WholeHearted Chef tickle you taste buds and satisfy that sweet tooth. Experienced with raw, gluten-free, vegan and refined sugar baking. Meal plan and delivery: Providing a little extra support for busy lives let Chef Christina provide individual meals that are ready to be warmed and enjoyed for any individual or family size. Can also include sweet and savory snacks and baked goods. *Service ware and additional staffing can be provided for an additional charge.

Christina is a joy to work with and delivers a stunning menu. I've hired her for two different events (both birthdays) and all my guests were so happy! She made the cutest little cakes with real edible flowers on top- oh my gosh I loved it!!
