Established Saratoga Springs restaurant and bar seeking a new Head Chef/Kitchen Manager to start Labor Day, September 5th!
Our full-service restaurant is open for dinner 6 days a week year-round and 7 days a week during Saratoga's track season (mid-July through early September). Cuisine is most accurately described as American comfort food with a twist, and our new menu format allows diners to choose from a selection of amuse-bouches, small and medium plates, and entrées to create their own experience, making plates affordable without sacrificing elegance or style.
We are seeking diligent, highly motivated, and self-directed chefs who are creative, passionate about food, and excited to share their work with our discerning clientele. We put a high value on creativity, and want your personality to shine through the food you create.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-Create exciting recipes that are consistent with the vision of ownership
-Order products with attention to price and quality
-Inventory kitchen stock at month's end
-Shape menus with bar manager to create a holistic dining experience
-Supervise and schedule a team of 3-5, including line/prep cooks and dishwasher
-Interview candidates for kitchen staff positions
-Communicate consistently with:
- ownership, front of house manager, in regard to order planning, ease of service, etc.
- with bookkeeper, in order to hit target costs and promote maintenance of accurate financial records
- and with social media/web services, regarding promotion of new plates and specials
-Maintain safety and cleanliness of kitchen, including adherence to OSHA regulations, scheduling of inspections related to Ansul system, and ordering of repair services
-Educate servers on new menus/menu items
-Coordinate with order runners on busy nights
-Participate in important culinary events in Saratoga Springs, such as Saratoga Winter Restaurant Week, Saratoga County Restaurant Week, and Chowderfest
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
-Open availability (we are open for business 7 nights/week during Saratoga's track season, 6 nights/week during the off season)
-3-5 years line experience
-Experience with comfort food/gastropub cuisine a plus
-Working knowledge of operating systems and software: Apple OS X/Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Google Apps
-Familiarity with POS systems
-ServSafe certification desired
