Chef Job in Dawson Creek, British Columbia

We are looking for a smart, hard working, dependable chef to run our golf course food operations. We are a busy, 9 hole facility nestled in the beautiful Peace Country area in Northern British Columbia, operating mid-April to mid-October annually. We are privately owned - no boards, no crazy food and beverage directors, no politics. Our ownership has over 50 years combined food and beverage operation experience, and you will work directly with us to provide amazing food to some really great people, We offer a simple, easy to cook regular menu to our guests that is focused on quality, local ingredients - our meats are all fresh, never processed, and all sourced locally. We also offer larger functions a banquet menu with several different options, and really, this is the backbone of our operation. We host tournament functions and also have busy weekly and monthly league nights - upwards of 80 people per function, and they all eat. As our chef, you will be required to order and cost food, prepare both the regular and banquet menu, direct and train staff in the kitchen, maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, and maintain an appropriate food cost. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, with the ability to multi task, have a high energy level and be driven to cook quality food in the proper quantities for different sized groups. You must have a demonstrated ability to perform the functions of the job - certification in the trade of chef is preferable - and you must supply professional references that we can actually talk to. Wage will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and will be in the $20 - $25 per hour range.
