Chef Job in Burlington, North Carolina

Working parents looking for a personal chef/cook to plan & cook informal, weeknight dinners for our family of 4 (2 adults, 1 teen and 1 child) 1-4 nights per week. Weekends are not needed; if it ever were to come up, it would be on rare occasion and is absolutely negotiable on a per meal basis. This will be an ongoing job. We are open to meals being prepared in our home kitchen or prepared elsewhere and delivered to our home. Meals would need to be delivered or ready to serve by 6-6:30PM. Clean up is NOT part of the job - you cook and serve and can head home; we’ll handle clean up! We do not have any dietary restrictions or food allergies. We are planning to provide the groceries/spices/supplies needed, but we are open to discussion if it would be easier for you to provide as needed and then reimburse you for them, and if there was some one-off stuff that needed to be acquired we can either stock it for future use or reimburse you. We are looking to hire immediately. No special qualifications or formal chef training is required. The ideal candidate is a skilled home cook and has a love for cooking, is punctual, has reliable transportation and is a good communicator via text/email. We are not looking for gourmet complicated or multi-course meals, but instead main entrees & sides like casseroles, stir-fry, air-fryer, etc. are all ok, especially if that means leftovers for lunch the next day! We are open to many different types of cuisines, we want you to have creative freedom! Our usual cuisine is pasta (baked or boiled), chicken/beef with occasional fish, and vegetables (especially those from our home garden when in-season. But our family eats just about all types of ethnic foods as well from traditional American to Japanese, Chinese, Mexican/Hispanic, Asian - we just love to eat :) We only have desserts on rare occasions. The work schedule is flexible depending on availability and cost. It will be at least 1 day per week but we are open to negotiating the minimum number of days week as needed for the right person. Pay range is also negotiable based on experience.
