Chef in Eagle, Idaho

Hi there, My name is Charlie, and I would love the opportunity to be your go-to person for meal prep, hosting your dinner parties, or being your full-time in-home chef. I am 31 years old. I have a wife, and 2 young children- ages 3 & 1. I live in Eagle, iD, and I have been living in the area for about 10 years now. My main background revolves around being a professional hockey player. I have played everywhere from all over North America, to more recently in Europe the last 6 years. Over those last 6 years that I have been living in Europe, I developed a love for cooking. Being a professional hockey player, it’s not like working a normal day job. Often times you have more time on your hands after you are done for the day than the average person. What I found is that I really enjoyed making quality meals with clean, fresh ingredients around the times that I wasn’t at work or spending time with my family. Over the years, I have become more and more fixated on it. It has now turned from a hobby to sort of a passion. Just to be completely honest and up front, I do not have any professional chef experience. I did not go to any sort of culinary school. I am 100% self taught, and I learn from mistakes and correcting them. With that being said, I am confident in my ability to provide the type of service that you are looking for. I am very disciplined, creative, and also very punctual with following a schedule. Nutrition is also a very important aspect of my life being a professional athlete. Over time, I have accumulated a lot of knowledge of a what a healthy diet should consist of. Feeling my best was crucial to my success, and diet is a huge component of that. I try to use fresh ingredients, and nothing coming from a can or jar. I hate to use the cliche "farm to table," but that couldn't be any more true from what I like to offer. But, I also feel having a balance is important too, as I do have a sweet tooth. With all that said, I feel there is nothing that I can’t cook. I have pretty much every tool a chef would need in my own kitchen. I would say my strengths are authentic Italian, barbecue, and Mexican food.
