Chef in Fort Lauderdale, Florida

I'm an
Individual
I am a New York City native and Memphis-based executive and personal chef with 26 years’ experience, as well as being a licensed professional educator and counselor. I seek full-time employment as private chef and home-school teacher and would naturally assist with household management. My extensive background in culinary artistry and professional education make me an ideal candidate to fill this unique niche. I am willing to relocate and travel as necessary if it is a good fit for us both, and the compensation package is suitable. As executive chef, my company has produced events ranging from the FedEx St. Jude Classic VIP parties to galas for the Memphis Junior League and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Association, and weddings and special events for as many as 420 guests. I also offer extensive experience creating intimate dinner parties and romantic dinners for two, as well as providing personal chef services which bring the world to my clients’ tables. I possess the experience and ability to prepare tasty nutritious meals three times a daily, and to provide for individual tastes as needed. I will also create memorable dining experiences for family and guests whether it’s for parties and special events, or simply to make any event special. I also bring the abilities and experience needed to serve as private teacher and assist with household management. I have a broad professional and personal background including serving in the Israeli army through a volunteer program, as a hospital chaplain, and operating a psychological assessment practice for nearly ten years. In addition, I was a corporate trainer and team leader for ServiceMaster during the rollout of the company’s operating system. Our teams were, in two years’ time, able to install all hardware and software and train staff to use the new system at 360 branches from Virginia to Hawaii. As a teacher, my focus is to teach children the skills the need to be successful. This includes daily training in core and ancillary subjects, but also includes helping children learn self-control and personal accountability. I believe it is important to assist students in bridging the gap between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. While this is not a difficult developmental transition for all children, in today’s world, it seems to be increasingly problematic for many adolescents. My wife and I have been separated for over 10 years, yet we have remained close family to raise our two amazing daughters into adulthood and get their careers going strong. My older daughter Lauren works with Memphis criminal court judge after receiving her JD in 2018, and my younger daughter Alison is currently a student at Florida Atlantic University and will be attending medical school beginning Autumn 2020. My primary goal is to have a positive impact on others and someday leave behind a world a little better than I found it. While the idea of serving as private chef while also teaching children and managing their academic progress may seem like too much for one person, I possess the skills and organizational abilities to make it work. A daily schedule might go something like this: 6:30-7:30 – Breakfast and clean-up and daily meeting with family (as needed or desired) 7:30-8:00 – daily ordering/preparation to begin school day 7:45-11:... – School -1st session (regular “fun time”) breaks as needed, depending on student developmental level(s) 12:00 – ... – Lunch and cleanup (note: Lunches to go could also be prepared in advance, as needed. These could be elevated sandwich-based lunches, or anything requested.) 1:00-1:30 P.E./play time for children (this would of course vary, based on grade level(s) and interests). 1:45-3:45 – School-2nd academic session 3:45-4:15 – lesson planning 4:15-6:00 Dinner prep and kitchen organizational time 6:15 – Dinner 7:00-8:45 – Kitchen cleanup/menu planning/shopping list/prep for next day This is a long daily schedule and is only a suggestion to be used as a starting point. Under the right circumstances and knowing that my younger daughter who is about to begin medical school is well-provided for, I would be able to maintain the focus and energy needed to work long hours every day.
