Springfield Rd, Kelowna BC V1Y 7X1 Work Location: Same as above Business Information: Casual family restaurant offering dine in, takeout and delivery of authentic Vietnamese cuisine Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Duties: • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef • Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies • Inspect kitchens and food service areas • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food • Order supplies and equipment • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment • Work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, etc.) • Clean kitchen and work areas • Recruit and hire staff • Organize and manage buffets and banquets • Manage kitchen operations • Work with minimal supervision • Wash dishes Requirements - Education: Completion of high school - Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook. If candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience then a post-secondary certificate is required Salary: $14.00 Hourly, 45.00 Hours per week Benefits: We provide lunch and 15% discount for staff out of work hours. Important Information: Work schedule is from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Flexibility on schedule is required. Work may be required on weekends. 2 days off are set on a rotational basis.
