Business address: 101 South Hythe Avenue, Burnaby, BC, V5B 3H6 Work Location: 4402 Skyline Dr #103, Burnaby, BC V5C 4A9 Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies Inspect kitchens and food service areas Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food Order supplies and equipment Supervise kitchen staff and helpers Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment Clean kitchen and work areas Recruit and hire staff Requirements: - Education: Completion of high school is required. - Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. In the event that the candidate does not have 3 years of experience then a post-secondary certificate is required. -Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Attention to detail, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Work under pressure -Personal suitability: Organized, Team player, Effective interpersonal skills, Judgement, Excellent oral communication, Initiative, Reliability, Accurate. -Language: English is required Salary: $21.00 hourly, 48 Hours per week. Benefits: Discounted meals and uniforms provided by the employer. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. Work on weekends and holidays is required. The employee will work from Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and from Saturday to Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Mondays are off.
