O/A Best Western Plus Mirage Hotel & Resort Business Information: The newest and most modern full-service Hotel in Northern Alberta Business Location: 9616 Highway 58, High Level, AB T0H 1Z0 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Duties: • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods • Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies • Inspect kitchens and food service areas • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food • Order supplies and equipment • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment • Clean kitchen and work areas • Organize and manage buffets and banquets • Manage kitchen operations • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Requirements - Education: Completion of high school is required - Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. If the candidate does not have 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required - Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Handling heavy loads - Personal Suitability: Judgement, Organized, Initiative, Dependability, Flexibility, Reliability, Team player -Language: English is required Salary: $16.50 to $18.50 Hourly, 30 to 40 hours per week Benefits: Accommodation provided at a discounted rate Important Information: Must have flexible availability – morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
