Business address: 233 / 235 Queen Street South, Mississauga, ON, L5M 1L7 Work Location: same as above and 121 Lakeshore Road West Mississauga ON L5N 4N2 Type of Employment: Full-time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods Prepare and execute authentic Mexican cuisine on the menu Operate specific appliances in the kitchen specific to the menu Prepare and cook special meals Plan menus, determine the size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies Inspect kitchens and food service areas Order supplies and equipment Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment Clean kitchen and work areas Organize and manage special events Manage kitchen operations Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances Requirements: - Education: Completion of high school is required - Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. If the candidate does not have 3 years of experience, then a post-secondary certificate is required - Experience cooking Mexican food is a strong asset Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Attention to detail, Overtime required, Handling heavy loads Personal Suitability: Judgement, Flexibility, Team player, Organized, Initiative, Client focus, Dependability,Reliability Language: English is required Salary: $17.00 to $20.00 hourly, 40-50 hours per week. Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required, especially for take-out service. The work schedule is from Monday to Sunday, with one day off on a rotational basis. The most frequent shift is from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, but shifts can vary from day to day. Overtime will be required. The workers will rotate between the two locations.
