The Exec Chef oversees multiple locations, therefore the Exec Sous has an incredibly important role in overall kitchen management and leadership Compensation: Exec Sous: 55k - 65k, AM Sous Chef: 40k - 45k Both positions have an excellent bonus plan, medical, parking, advancement opportunity Interested? Tastes on the Fly is seeking a talented and committed Executive Sous Chef to join the team at one of our full service airport locations! We bring the same high-quality cuisine and service, of similar locations on the street, to airport dining. Our goal is to blow travelers away with a top notch experience inside Boston Logan We are an expanding company with various concepts in several airports nationally and have received numerous accolades for our commitment to providing quality food and impeccable service inside airports. Position Overview: (degree of control and accountability varies between position) Supervise Kitchen operations and set the level of professional expectations Training of newly hired BOH staff and those placed in new positions Ongoing training/coaching of all BOH staff, including Sous Chefs, on each aspect of their positions with follow up and periodic performance reviews Work to resolve employee performance issues in a timely and positive manner. Asses appropriate discipline as needed in a thorough manner. Seek support as needed from senior management or HR Maintain daily / weekly schedules that support labor cost budget and provide proper staffing Maintain vendor/supplier ordering and purchasing systems, including effective pars to optimize product quality and use Track product usage and variances with accurate monthly inventories Coordinate and ensure timelines off repair and maintenance Ensure quality and consistency of products being served, keeping in line with brand standards Understand and adhere to Airport / Massport rules and regulation Complete daily administrative duties timely and effectively including manager log notes and employee documentation Maintain thorough, effective and timely communication with other management personnel Follow, teach and enforce excellent food safety and sanitation practices Follow, teach and enforce all Company policies and procedures Work to maintain a productive and positive work environment and relations with employees, colleagues and business associates. Qualifications To be hired for this position, candidate must pass an airport required 10 year criminal background check and TSA security threat assessment Must have a minimum 2 years chef / kitchen supervisory experience in a full service, moderate to high volume restaurant and proven staff management skills. Knowledge of basic food and labor costing Basic computer knowledge (internet, Word, Excel etc.) Organized with timely and consistent follow through Flexible Schedule Reliable Transportation Ability to multi-task, problem solve and work well under pressure Positive attitude with strong leadership skills â€¢ Strong communication skills with subordinates, peers and superiors â€¢ Able to work ten plus hour shifts plus ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time â€¢ Able to grasp, lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs as needed â€¢ Finger/hand dexterity to operate kitchen machinery, knives, etc Able to withstand changes in temperature, occasional smoke, steam and heat and work in a confined area Must possess hearing, visual and sensory abilities to observe and detect emergency situations; also to distinguish product, taste, texture, temperature etc. Bilingual, breakfast experience, high volume, current food safety certification all pluses Please submit your resume for immediate consideration.
