To whom it may concern. I am writing to inquire about the position you had advertised. I am looking for a position in a home or on a moderate sized farm, ranch, or lodge. I have been semiretired but have decided to look for a new opportunity. I hope to make a positive contribution using my skills and experience from over 40 years in the food and hospitality business. I am an excellent cook and baker. Also, I am a knowledgeable organic gardener and a tinkerer/handyman. Experienced in the everchanging situations of the catering business. I have catered for lavish weddings, celebrities, diplomats, Bar Mitzvahs and tailgate parties. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep my clients satisfied, cooking, washing dishes, irrigating roses or shoveling manure I’m a good communicator and have strong experienced leadership skills. I am also good at front of the house responsibilities. I enjoy outdoors and am very active with a variety of through the years. I am looking for a full-time position. I am willing to relocate and negotiate salary. A position with room and board would be preferable. I am available immediately. I was the former owner and top food guy of multiple restaurants from contemporary fast food to fine dining and a very successful catering company. Also, I have an international consulting practice. Currently only one client, Airstream. I have also spent a reasonable amount of time on a ranch in Texas and a significant amount of time in agricultural settings throughout the world. An avid organic micro farmer, I have both taken and given many workshops on a variety of related subjects. Although I'm not a hunter I am an outdoorsman who enjoys camping and riding. One thing I do bring is an owner's eye having primarily worked for myself for the past 40 years. Additionally, all the recipes and menus from my catering company and restaurants would be available.
