Built, managed and operated a busy kitchen/catering business from the ground up for over 15 years. I have had the pleasure to cater for some amazing people in my past and enjoyed the experience of meeting celebrities and Dignitaries from all over. Most recently, I have traveled throughout the United States, Cuba and Canada catering events of all nature. From cooking home meals for families to catering social gatherings and events for various businesses and customers that I met during my travels. Shared stories, recipes and experiences with fellow chefs and culinary business owners. Offered assistance however possible when the situation presented itself. Gained a deep insight into cultural food cooking techniques and built a repertoire of great recipes that will one day become a cook book of this journey. Was exposed to so many different food styles and combinations that my palette has been expanded immensely to the point where it is time to put this knowledge to good use. I have also traveled to France, Italy, Germany, and England where I have had the opportunity to eat at various restaurants serving local food fare to gain an understanding of the palette and tastes of the respective location. Italy was a whole different culinary experience. Traveled with a local Italian Chef whose family owned and operated a restaurant just outside of Rome. I was given the opportunity to learn from this amazing family. At their residence, everything they consumed was from their own land. Selecting the food from their gardens, the animals from their pastures, and the wine from their own reserve. They even pressed their own Olive Oil from the groves. Spent a month traveling throughout Italy, eating, cooking and learning from the culinary experts. One could talk about this experience for ever... The one thing that was clear to me was that food is best when passion, love of cooking and time is shared with friends and family while preparing meals. The key to a good meal, has always been clear to me, and that is why all my food has always been made from scratch . My passion for food runs deep in my blood. My mother has been in and out of the industry for most of her life. Growing up, in a rural setting, our lives were surrounded by farms and a fishing community. It was both my grandmother's patience and my mother's devotion to sharing their knowledge of the kitchen that inspired my passion to bake. Most of what we ate came directly from our gardens and that is why I believe that local, fresh and organic foods are BEST! The ingredients used have always been hand selected for freshness, quality and taste. It is certainly true that good food starts with the best ingredients. During off season when things would slow down slightly, I provided cooking lessons to groups of 12 or more; demonstrating possibilities of varying meal and food choices all while explaining certain health benefits and options. I am available to cater any event, from a nice meal in home, to larger events for businesses. Weddings, business/corporate luncheons, birthdays, in-house dinner parties, and special event of any nature. I am willing and capable of travelling anywhere in the world.
