Business address: 9184 Yonge St #16, Richmond Hill, ON, L4C 7A1 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time - Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards • Recruit and hire staff • Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to the cooking staff • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food • Create new recipes • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions • Prepare and cook meals or specialty Persian foods • Order food and kitchen supplies as needed. Requirements: -Education: Completion of high school -Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial food preparation is required. If the candidate does not have at least 3 years of experience, then the Cook’s trade certification is required. - Must have knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres. - One year of experience in a supervisory capacity is a strong asset. - Ability to supervise 1 to 2 people -Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Repetitive tasks -Personal Suitability: Team player, Flexibility, Organized, Dependability, Reliability, Initiative, Client focus Salary: $24.00 hourly, 40-50 hours per week. Important Information: Flexibility in schedule is required. Regular working schedule consists of 5 days between Monday to Saturday. It will include shifts from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm during weekdays and from 10:00 am to 09:00 pm on Saturdays. Overtime will be required depending on the business’ needs.
